DIRECTIONS:  SUNSET BLVD TO NORTH BUNDY DR APPROXIMATELY 1.1 MILES, LEFT ON TRAVIS ST, HOUSE ON LEFT, SIGNS WILL BE POSTED.  DRIVEWAY IS A BIT  OF A CLIMB AND WE HAVE PROVIDED A CAR TO TAKE YOU UP AND DOWN IF NEEDED. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT TRAFFIC IS VERY, VERY SLOW AROUND 3 PM.  NEAR KENTER AND BUNDY  AND THE 405 FREEWAY.  TRY TO COME EARLIER.

 

THIS IS THE ESTATE OF LUCINA AGBABIAN HUBBARD WAS BORN IN CYPRUS TO REVEREND SIRAGON AGBABIAN, HER FATHER WAS THE MINISTER OF THE ARMENIAN EVANGELICAL CHURCH IN CYPRUS.  LUCINA WAS FOUR YEARS OLD WHEN HER FAMILY MOVED TO ALEPPO, SYRIA WHERE HER FATHER CONTINUED HIS MINISTRY OF THE EMMANUEL CHURCH.  SHE WAS A STUDENT OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF THE CHURCH AND AFTER SHE GRADUATED FROM THE AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS ,SHE WENT TO CALIFORNIA WHERE HER TWO BROTHERS, MIHRAN AND HRANT, HAD MOVED AS STUDENTS.  SHE JOINED THEM AS A STUDENT OF UC BERKELEY, AND WHEN HER PARENTS JOINED HER AND THEIR TWO SONS, THE FAMILY SETTLED IN LOS ANGELES.

 

LUCINA CONTINUED HER STUDIES AT UCLA IN THE WORLD ARTS AND CULTURES PROGRAM.  AFTER GRADUATION SHE TAUGHT TWO COURSES, INTRODUCTION TO ARMENIAN MUSIC AND ARMENIAN MUSIC CULTURE, AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHER CALIFORNIA FOR 21 YEARS. WHEN SHE WAS AT UC BERKELEY SHE MET HARMON HUBBARD, A GRADUATE STUDENT IN PHYSICS AND A FRIEND OF HER BROTHER MIHRAN.

 

HER DEPARTURE FROM THIS WORLD HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT EXPERIENCE FOR HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
